Benefits of Learning a Language

Language can enrich your life in so many ways! Since we as language lovers and teachers may be a bit biased, we thought we would share some research-based evidence of all the academic, cognitive, and social benefits of learning a language.

The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is a
national organization that aims to improve and expand the teaching and
learning of all languages. It is comprised of more than 12,500 world language
teachers and administrators from elementary through graduate education, as
well as in government and industry. ACTFL’s professional development and
career resources, events, networking opportunities, publications, research,
assessment tools, support and promotion of standards, and advocacy elevate
understanding and support for the value of language learning at all levels of instruction.

In other words, ACTFL knows what they are talking about when it comes to language. Below is some information they share about the research-based benefits of language learning.
