Thank you for taking a language within our department as an elective course. As language teachers our goal is to help foster your learning and enrich your education in order for you to become an effective communicator and more specifically within the target language.  Writing is an important mode of communication, and we believe strongly in the essential connection that exists between good writing and strong thinking.  Because we believe our actions as educators have a powerful impact on our students' success, we commit ourselves to doing the following: 

 

• Provide students many opportunities to write in the language they are learning

• Challenge students to think critically

• Incorporate writing skills learned in other disciplines

• Instruct students on good writing and translating practices

• Model writing expectations

• Provide students with timely feedback and opportunities for revision

• Help students produce their own work
