Earn a Seal of Biliteracy

The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by our school district and recognized by the State of Illinois, in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in both English (must meet the English proficiency requirement) and a native or foreign language (must pass the Seal of Biliteracy Exam in that language or must score a 4 or 5 on that AP language exam).

At PHS the Seal of Biliteracy exam is offered in the spring for a cost. It is highly recommended for students enrolled in a World Language class here at Palatine to be in Level IV or higher of their language study when taking this Seal of Biliteracy exam.

Explore the resources below for more information. For any specific questions about the Seal of Biliteracy at PHS, contact the World Language Department Chair.
